FAQ

Q: How do you do your comic?

A: I've used three different methods, all with distinctly different results.

All comics start out the same way:  I draw it on a normal blank piece of paper using a pencil. Mechanical pencil. And I do the panels using a ruler. When the drawing's done, I ink it, using a black marker and two different pens. I got the marker from a Spiderman color-in poster. The pens are .01 and .03 point Micron pens made by Sakura. They produce very fine lines. I love those pens. When the inking's done, I erase the pencil. Then, I scan the comic onto my computer as a line-art drawing.

In the original method I then colored it in on Arcsoft Photostudio 2000 SE, and lettered it with MS Paint. I have decided that that's the worst possible method to use, and I only did that for the first four comics.

The second method involved coloring and lettering on Arcsoft Photostudio,  reducing the pic so it was only 500 pixels wide (it starts out at roughly 2500 pixels). The speech bubbles were specially made from stamps on the photostudio, and worked relatively well. I eventually learned that reducing the brightness before coloring eliminated those annoying little white dots.

In the third, best-looking, and current method, I use Adobe Photoshop 7, which I recently acquired. I keep the pic full-size while I color it, and now I do shading (using the burn tool), and sometimes I add textures and other nice effects. I do the lettering and all that, then reduce the pic, and everything is happy.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?

A: I dunno. Funny things pop into my head and I make comics out of them.

Q: How do you do the speech bubbles?

I picked it up from Brian Clevinger over at 8-Bit Theatre. Go there and read his FAQ if you want to know.

Q: Do you do guest comics?

A: Gladly! It may take awhile (then again, it may not), but I'll do it!

Q: Can I do a guest comic?

A: Who paid you to say that? No, really. (Yes, I'd love a guest comic)

Q: If I link to your page, will you link to mine?

A. Sure.

Q: Is you name really SARA?

A: Sort of. It's Sara, but since that name's as common as dirt, I turned it into an acronym. I spell it Sara on assignments and SARA just about every other time.

Q: Breath of Fire III? Never heard of it.

A: That's not a question.

Q: Uh... How'd you get into such an obscure game series?

A: My brother bought it for $5 from a classmate. I played it and loved it, and I've written a review for it.

Q: Can I have $5?

A: Not from me, you can't. I don't have money. That's why I got FREE internet space.

Q: If I gave you money, would you get your own domain?

A: You're joking, right?

Q: Yes.

A: Grr.

Q: Hey, what's the flamethrower for? No! I'm sorry! Can't you take a joke?! I didn't mean- IT BURNS!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRG!

A: Jerk.
