Update Archives
11/28/04- The comic has been re-inked and such, but it will be delayed even more. It's 50 degrees F in here (10C), and I don't think you want to see a badly done comic colored with a frozen hand and such. I'll get to work when it warms up.
11/20/04- Sure, ink with the new pen, I thought. What could possibly go wrong? I got it at a dollar store, what could go wrong?
New comic will be delayed. =_=
11/06/04- Two weeks in a row! Might not be a new comic next week. The buffer ran out again. We'll see. Update is moved to Saturdays, because it's easier.
10/30/04- New comic!! (And there was much rejoicing.) 'Tis a little late, but a comic nonetheless. Enjoy.
10/23/04- I got nuthin'. It's been something of a hectic week, and I haven't managed to draw even a single-panel comic. Hopefully I'll have something for next week.
10/15/04- It's official. I am a bad person. This is the third week in a row I've forgotten to update till the last minute. In my defense, I have been busy. I think midterms are next week.
Anyways, another guest comic saves the day. This one's from Reanna, so thank her by visiting her deviantart account. Now. It wasn't optional. Seriously.
Hey, don't you love it when small flacks of white fall from a gray sky? Of course, most would assume that the phenomenon I just described is called "snow" but it's the wrong time of year for snow. The gray is actually better described as "smoke", and the flecks of white are called "ash". Fun.
10/8/04- I'm working on building another buffer (it ran out last week and I haven't had time to finish any new comics), so here's a Lord of the Rings-related comic by my good pal Sapphire, so saved me a whole lot of time by sending in a guest comic. :)
10/1/04- Hey, guess who forgot to update! >_> It was Jimbob's fault. Yeah.
New comic, thus consuming the last of the buffer, which means I need to get drawing some more comics. But there's a new comic guaranteed for next week, so don't you worry. Because you were worried.
9/23/04- Howdy! New comic, y'all! Okay, I'm done trying to sound like a cowpoke. Also, I changed the Archive page to specify story arcs better.
And! My deviantart account passed 500 pageviews this week! Yay!
If you are not an alumnus from the NU Band, please disregard the following message:
Hey, former NU band peoples! 'Parently the football team's playing Elk Grove on Friday, and Elk Grove's bringing in a platoon of band peoples. And the NU Pep/Marching band's dwindled to only about 30 people (and I hear they're not as good as they were in past years), so all the alumni are invited to join. This probably means getting into the game for free (no promises, just speculation on my part), and it'd be a big help to the current band. It seems the new crop of Freshmen need to learn some respect. Anyways, I'll be showing up at the band room 'round 6:30. You should show up too.
To the non-NU band alumni who read that message: Yeah! I'm in band! Wanna make somethin' of it? And don't think this implies school spirit. The NU band program's one of the best in the state of California (or at least it was when I was there, haven't heard them lately).
Post-game update: Elk Grove only brought their drum line. Yay to all the alumni who showed up! Though I don't think this post had anything to do with it, but that's okay. (By the way, NU won 56-12)
9/17/04- Hooray! New comic! One of the real six-panel deals, too! I'm working on getting several comics done at once, so I can have several in reserve in case Father Time takes away my allowance. A new comic is all but guaranteed for the next couple of weeks.
Starting a story arc today, inspired by Louie the Rune Soldier, an anime no one seems to have heard of. You poor people.
9/10/04- It's not filler. Really, it's not. It's a Single Panel Comic. With luck, I should be able to put out one of these for the times when I can't do the regular six-panel deal. Because those take a lot longer. So expect to see these a lot. If you hate me, that's okay. Haters never prosper. Or was that cheaters?
I woulda had this up yesterday, but something with some CD burning software went awry, and that's the only way I can transfer files from the internet computer to my computer. I scanned the comic using my scanner, which spells "warming" with two m's. So it was "warmming up". I find that disturbing. Anyways, I reinstalled the CD burning software, and everything works now.
9/1/04- X_X
I hate to say this, loyal readers (you'd have to be loyal to still be coming here), but things ain't lookin' good. Since school's started, combined with the fact that I have a job now, my free time has been severely compromised. To be blunt, I don't have the drive to produce a comic even once a week. I'm not calling it quits yet. Actually, I'm not completely sure what to do. Suggestions are welcome. I'll start a thread in the Forum- it'll be in the Peanut Brittle thread. You don't need to register, you can post anonymously. And if you're forum-shy, you can drop me a line at miss_special2000@yahoo.com.
I'm aware of the fact that having a headache and coming home from a fun day of studying protozoa through a microscope doesn't exactly make me the most pleasant person to be around. I think I'm developing a hatred for protozoa. Dumb single-celled organisms. I'm tired. I'm going to sleep soon.
8/16/04- Accidentally scanned the comic as a color image instead of lineart, and rather than go through the hassle of scanning it all over again (it is a hassle) I just colored it as is. It turned out a little funky. But it's good nonetheless.
>_< School starts in a week!
8/9/04- Well, loyal readers, it looks like the inevitable has come. In light of my job, upcoming school (ugh), and various other time constraints, I'm now switching ImAoS to updating once a week. At the moment, Monday is best for this, however it'll probably change to Tuesday in a couple weeks.
Enjoy the new comic.
8/2/04- I think August is my least favorite month. I don't know why, I just don't like August.
Anyways, I'm drawing again, and there's a new comic to prove it. It's much better than the last one.
7/31/04- Howdy! You're probably wondering why I haven't updated in over a week. My new job kept me from updating Monday. I peel logs, which sounds dumb and everything, but it's good money, though it ain't easy work- it's like peeling a very, very large cucumber made of wood. Anyways, while peeling these massive cucumbers, I've managed to jam a finger or two. It makes drawing painful and hard, which is why there wasn't a new comic yesterday.
Expect a new comic Monday.
7/23/04- I flip-flopped a number of times on whether or not to post today's comic. It's slightly better now that it's colored. And, of course, while I was coloring it, I thought of a far more wittier and funnier take on the whole Robin Hood universe: Robin Hoodlum. Alas, too late. You're stuck with plain ol' Robin Hood.
7/19/04- Apparently some of my fudged urls didn't work last Friday. I fudged them again today, but maybe I did it right. Once again, wallpaper: 1024x768 800x600 If it doesn't work this time, just go to my Deviantart account. I've got it posted there under the title "ImAoS wallpaper". It's also my featured deviation, so it shouldn't be hard to miss.
I don't think I thanked Reanna profusely enough for her comic last Friday. BIG FAT THANKS!! ;)
Yes, if you're wondering, there is indeed a new comic.
7/16/04- I'm back! I've been back since Sunday night, but I was uber-grouchy on Monday (can you say "jet-lag?"), and you don't want to talk to me when I'm grouchy. I've got a guest comic from Reanna, so that'll give me an even longer break. I'll have a comic by me up on Monday; here's some wallpaper to keep you busy: 1024x768 800x600
By the way, the computer I normally use for site management isn't working again, so I'm fudging the urls on my internet-less computer named Swimmie. Some of you have had the pleasure of meeting Swimmie. *doesn't know where this is going*
And big-huge-freakin' fat thanks go to Greta, who did a good job of taking care of the site while I was away.
Go to my Deviantart account. Because I said so.
7/9/04- Frankly, I think I'm doing pretty well with this whole 'update-once-a-week' thing. It's just about all I can manage between helping with the re-siding of the house and stuff. Hope everyone can relate. Enjoy the comic.
7/2/04- So sue me. I didn't mean to be heck of late in getting this comic up. What can I say, yo's? What with vacation and all, I'd say that the powers that be are conspiring against me. Oh yeah, and instead of actually COLORING it, I used tone, like what you see in comic books. Partly I was rushed, but mostly I thought it would separate it from the SARA's comics and look REALLY COOL in the process. hehe.
6/24/04- Again, sorry for the late update. Stuff is crazy around here lately, and it's hard for me to get the time to do it. In fact, due to my being in Los Angeles next Monday, I may not get the comic up until Tuesday evening or even Wednesday. Sowwy, I don't have a portable scanner. :'(
6/23/04- Yeah, so I forgot about updating the comic until about 3:20. I'm so sorry. I've been entertaining guests, so no wonder I'm a little absent-minded! Today's comic is based on my brother, Kurt, who's xbox just up and died one day. Nick drew this to make fun of him, I think. But probably not...
6/22/04- So yeah, the first time I saw today's comic at Nick's house, I laughed so hard...and then I asked what the scientist DID make. Good times. If any of you are like me, and can't figure out what he made, even though the product is there in the last panel (but you can't tell what it is), I'll solve the riddle and tell y'all what it is tomorrow. Yes....
6/21/04- Another Father's Day come and gone; another summer solstice come and gone...hope everyone had a great weekend! So for the comic, this week is Nick Week. From Monday through Friday, everyday, there will be a new comic from our dear Nick. Just letting you all know this now. Cool. ^__^
6/17/04- Alrighty, really I'm just updating this site from time to time until next week so I don't forget how when the important time comes. That's all. You may all return to your regularly scheduled tasks at this point. Have a nice weekend.
6/15/04- Well, our beloved leader SARA is on some...important...business trip or something, so I, Greta, will be here. Not her. Me. Please bear with me while I learn how to operate this awful webpage uploading program thing. If something goes wrong, and links break and your computers blow up, then...well, I'm very sorry. ^__^' No, seriously, if stuff doesn't work, then contact me at amakudari@muchomail.com and tell me what's up. Then I'll cry, because I won't know how to fix it.
6/14/04- And the final comic before I go on my vacation is up for your enjoyment. Or you can berate my... not-so-good poetry. Or both. Have a nice day, and be nice to Greta, or I'll eat your soul and sell the rest of you on ebay.
I'll probably drop by the forum every once in awhile while I'm gone. Once again, there will be no new comic on Friday, there will be a new comic from Nick every day (Mon-Fri) next week, hence the term "Nick Week", and then there will be Greta comics after that till I get home
6/11/04- I've managed to get the scripts for the next couple weeks' worth of comics off to Greta, and everything's just about ready on my end. Nick Week will take place June 21-25. There will be no comic on Friday, June 18, unless someone sends in a guest comic, which no one has done yet. I don't really expect anyone to, so don't worry about it.
5/28/04- We now return to our regularly scheduled comic. Thank you for bearing with the tons and tons of work I had that kept me from updating.
Hey, there're 5 months left till my birthday! Yay!
5/24/04- Rather than waste your time with more filler, here is another public service announcement from Rachel that I forgot to send to her to color but am putting it up anyways for lack of other stuff to put up.
5/21/04- Oi. I think my eyes fell out. I haven't had a chance to look for them yet.
So the school year is coming to a close. I have a paper to write and another to prepare for by Tuesday morning, so all my time is being devoted to that. Thus, I'm sad to say, you get filler. Bad filler that's not colored or even inked. Yeah.
And here's a public service announcement from Rachel.
5/18/04- It was 7:30 Monday night. I was entering the second hour of my despicable art class. Setting my pencil down, I stood, walked out of the room, and stole across the pond, setting sun throwing my shadow across the ground as if I was a sunset fugitive.
I crossed the bridge, went into the computer lab, logged in (not a good thing for a spy to do, but I didn't want to tempt fate even more), got onto a computer, and got myself a deviantart account. The process took half a minute; I logged out (I nearly forgot), headed back across the small wooden bridge, and went back into my art class as if I hadn't disappeared at all.
Go check it out!
5/17/04- New stuff ahoy! Along with the new comic, there's a new banner *points*, and news on the deviantart situation. Someone has been kind and helped me get in contact with the deviantart folks, and I shall have an account running be tomorrow afternoon.
5/14/04- Apparently, along with the power to Not (as in make people not exist anymore), I have the power to Re. Re is basically un-Not-ing. For example, if I Not-ed Anna, then Re-d her, she'd be Re-anna. And if I Not-ed Greta and then Re-d her, she'd be Re-gret. *rimshot*
No, I didn't come up with that. Reanna did. Anyways, computer still doesn't work very well, but well enough for a new comic.
No one's taken me up on that deviantart thing. Apparently, no one wants to see any art of mine besides ImAoS comics. That's silly, because I can draw a lot better than just these crude little comics. I draw the comics the way I do because it's easier to draw like that consistently. I'm stockpiling art that I will not show anybody on the internet unless I have a adeviantart account to do it with. So there.
Oh, and I sent in my 8-Bit Theatre guest comic. If it doesn't get picked, which it probably won't, I'll post it here.
5/10/04- I'm sorry. There isn't a new actual comic because the computer is working but only just, but that's not what I'm apologizing for. I did a sprite "comic" to hopefully make up for no new comic. It is the worst thing ever. Here it is. I'm sorry.
I looked into that whole "banned from Deviantart" thing. If you recall, I tried to sign up a while ago only to find out that I'd been banned for no apparent reason. Today, I tried to find out how to get un-banned and was referred to the help desk. Maybe I'll look back on this someday and laugh. Right now, though, I feel like going out for blood.
See, to use the Deviantart help desk, you need to be a member of Deviantart. How the (expletive) am I supposed to become a (expletive) member if I've been banned? If any of you people out there are Deviantart members, would you mind looking into this? I'll give you a nice picture if you do.
5/9/04- Well, I've got bad news. The bad news is one of the computers I use to run this site is broken and needs all its software reinstalled. So it looks like there won't be a new comic tomorrow, but hey, who knows. If push comes to shove, I'll do some lame picture-comic type thing, or something mouse-drawn. I'll get something up.
5/7/04- There's a lot of stuff I'd be putting up today if I weren't so dead. I'll get them up tomorrow, maybe. But they WILL get up.
Have a couple guest comics already. Thanks, Nick! I'm going to save them for when I'm not here. Still, if you'd like to send in a guest comic, please do!
I'm going to change the banner thing at the top of the page soon. It's outdated.
5/3/04- 8:30 am- and I haven't started the comic yet. This is nothing new; I usually don't start drawing until 9:00. I'm just giving you the heads-up because I'm trying out a ready-made template for the first time (!!!) and I'm not sure how things will turn out. So there might be a delay, or the comic might just plain turn out bad. I don't know.
12:20 pm- Wow, this turned out really well! Not just the template, but the visuals and everything. I am pleased. ^_^
8-Bit Theatre is having guest comics, and I've got one all ready to go. There's no guaranteeing it'll get in, but if it doesn't, I'll post it here and let you see it.
I'm going to be away for 3-4 weeks this June/July, and I'm still not sure what do with the site during that time. Maybe I can have someone take care of things while I'm gone, it would be a great time for guest comics, I could possible have ready-drawn comics, I'm not really sure yet. But guest comics would be very nice.
^_^ I'm as subtle as a landmine.
4/29/04- Big thanks to everyone who participated in my poll! I'm going to use the winning comic, The Legend of the Leperchauns, as a sample comic for buzzComix. That will hopefully attract more visitors, since (I think) people go for comics with samples... sorry if that didn't make sense.
Anyways! New comic!
FYI, The comic will be going to a Tuesday-Friday update schedule in August. Next semester, my Mondays will be booked with classes. Tuesdays are fairly free, and I still have Fridays off. ^_^ Also, I'm thinking of having a Fill-in-the-Bubble contest or something like it.
4/26/04- To make up for the lack of actual comic last Friday, the latest comic is slightly early.
...
If you haven't already, vote at my little poll. That is all. You are excused.
4/23/04- Wow, I've achieved a new record of lateness! I've also achieved a new level of laziness, since I didn't have any time yesterday to start a new comic and wasn't up to doing one today. So! Instead of a traditional-style comic, I've put up the next three pages of the original ImAoS, and there's a bonus- I wrote some comments onto the latest three pages (I also put comments on the previous nine pages, but I haven't had a chance to upload them yet). You can find the original ImAoS in the Miscellaneous section.
If you haven't already, please take the time for my little poll. It will hopefully contribute in getting more people to come here.
4/19/04- Um. I can't think of anything meaningful to say. I want to make a pie. No one else will eat my pie, because they can't handle its uber-chocolateyness. The wusses.
Quit reading this banter and look at the comic already.
I love this little guy!
Yay!
4/16/04- On a coincidentally Bond-related note, I want this car.
Yeesh, the comic did not ink well.
4/12/04- Starting a short story arc today. Hope you had a nice Easter!
4/9/04- Hooray! Comic #50!
And here's Ceylon wishing you a happy Easter. If you don't know who she is, don't worry. Just accept the fact that she is cute.

4/7/04- Evil Eye Wallpaper, as promised. It's not that great, but hey, it's wallpaper. If you don't like blood, you probably won't like it.
4/5/04- LAN parties are super-fun. Nabbed a buncha stuff, including AMVs, Invader Zim eps, and lotsa music. And a new game. ^_^
Yeah, the new comic's kinda late. 'Course, I slept in an extra hour because of the daylight savings thing, but that doesn't really explain why it's this late. I'll just leave it up to your imagination.
Expect some Evil Eye wallpaper later this week. Maybe. If all goes well.
4/2/04- I briefly considered doing some sort of April Fool's thing to this site yesterday, but everything's been done, and I didn't feel like it.
New comic's up. Spring Break is upon us, and none too soon. I must prepare for a LAN party (woooooo!)
3/29/04- comics you almost saw today (but didn't because they didn't work out): Zelda, Cowboy Bebop, Super Smash Bros. Melee, more Zelda
Finally was able to get a comic to work. Here ya go.
*edit* Someone once mentioned I should get a deviantART account, so I checked it out today. I can count on one hand the number of times I've ever been to deviantART, but I've been told I can't join because I've been banned. Apparently I violated a policy, which is absurd, since I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING AT ALL. I feel compelled to make a nasty, scathing comment about deviantART, but I'm grouchy and will probably regret it later.
"If you feel that you are receiving this in error, this is most likely due to the misbehaviour of someone else that uses the same ISP as you." -Woo, so I'm paying for someone else's stupidity. That's some good justice ya got there.
3/26/04- Beast Wars season 2 is out on DVD! Hooray! Mine got here yesterday, though I didn't find that out till this morning. So, rather than bore you with details about something, I'm going to go watch Beast Wars.
Oh, yeah, new comic.
*edit* I forgot! Here's some pics of ASRoS.
3/22/04- Conscience: Today's Monday.
SARA: How 'bout that.
Conscience: Shouldn't you be working on a comic?
SARA: Shh! I can't hear the TV.
Conscience: What- You're still in your pajamas!
SARA: I can do a comic while in my pajamas.
Conscience: But you're not doing one! You're just sitting!!
SARA: =_=
Anyways, my family's planning a road trip in June to Pensacola, FL. Don't know how long I'll be gone, or what I'm going to do with the site during that time. Just thought I'd give you the heads-up. Enjoy the new comic.
*edit* Dumb formatting issues. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry about it.
3/19/04- I normally don't make so many references to a video game in a single comic, but today is an exception. BoF IV has so many people with weird speech patterns that I couldn't resist making fun of them. It's also the biggest comic in ImAoS history at roughly 130 kb.
3/17/04- Happy St. Patrick's Day! I may be Irish, but if you kiss me, I'll smack you, caspice? (I'm Italian, too ^_^) I think I spelled that wrong... oh well.
Got uber bored yesterday and made some wallpaper. Enjoy!
My old Geocities website has been on my mind as of late. I'm thinking about shutting it down, since all it does is consume space on the internet. I am completely unable to update it- the pagebuilder won't load. Maybe I should just leave it up as an archive? I've got lots of stories and pictures there. You can check it out and tell me what you think. Even if you think the site's a travesty against mankind, tell me- I won't get offended.
3/15/04- So I was lookin' around at Capcom's website this morning, hoping that hell would freeze over and they'd announce the production of Breath of Fire VI. And I noticed a fact that mad me very sad: on Capcom's site, the only proof that the BoF games exist is the fact that they're selling them there. In Capcom's various banners and articles and such, there is not one reference to the Breath of Fire series. You'd think a franchise that spans five games and over ten years would get some face time, but no. Instead, Megaman from the Megaman Battle Network games gets all the attention (well, too much of it). I like Megaman, but in the Battle Network games, he's practically nothing but a puppet.
This was brought on because I played BoF IV most of the weekend. Poor Ryu needs a hug. >_> Hey, don't look at me, dragon boy, I don't hug people.
Rant said and over with, I'm feeling better than Friday. And the comic is up.
3/12/04- I hate Spring. It's been Spring-like for barely a week and I'm already sick. Not sick of Spring, but sick. Spring makes me physically ill.
Another unhappy thing (unrelated to being sick) is I found that my thumb was bleeding under the nail. I was worried that I may have some virus that causes that to happen, but then I remembered that virus was on Alias and likely fictional. Either way, my thumb hurts and typing and playing video games had become slightly unpleasant.
If there's anything wrong with today's comic, it's probably because I'm sick. Everything I do is always bad when I'm sick.
3/10/04- Save Sam and Max!!!! I played the original game and loved it, and now Lucas Arts, the jerks, are cancelling the production of the sequel! Sign the petition and tell ol' Georgie (as in Lucas) what's what!
3/8/04- Dangit, I always forget what I want to say whenever I write an update... lessee... Oh! I found this site that teaches you to read Japanese through a game- and RPG, to be exact! I can now sufficiently read katakana (I could only read a little before), and am working on learning hiragana and kanji. The game is small, easy to get the hang of, and has a bit of a sense of humor to boot- you can download it here.
And, of course, there's a new comic up today. It's a good 'un.
3/5/04- Today's comic concludes the SARA vs. ASRoaL story arc, which lasted over 1/4 the total comics so far. Comic #40 today, woohoo!
Dead tired. Going to watch anime.
3/1/04- No, you are not seeing things. There are indeed six panels in today's comic, and six will be the norm for now on. Not five, nor seven. Six.
Thus ends my lame Monty Python parody. Ni!
2/27/04- I am not completely to blame for the subtle badness of today's comic. Much of it goes to the jerkface who sat down at my table with his friends, ignored the person trying to draw, and thought it'd be fun to make the table shake.
I mean really, people, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if a person is sitting alone at a table, it generally means they want to be alone. And you DO NOT bump the friggin' table when someone is trying to draw.
The rest of the blame goes to my dog, because she was sitting on me while I was inking the comic.
*edit* I am well aware of the type-o in today's comic, but due to file transferring problems, the mistake will remain until tomorrow, possibly later.
2/23/04- Would've gotten the comic up earlier, but the third panel was a pain to draw. It's ready now. Go look at it. Or not. Or something.
Do the happy dance!
2/21/04- Scott posted the VG Cats comic, so go take a look. ^___^ (I am such a sad little person)
And now, to waste your precious time, here is a vocabulary lesson:
dude- an interjection along the lines of "hey". ex.: "Dude, that sucks!" or "Dude, you really need to take a bath."
gank- verb, meaning "to steal". ex: "Hey, let's gank his skateboard!"; "Dude, he ganked my talent!"
crudmuffin- 1. noun- a muffin made of crud. 2. interjection, substituted for most profanity. ex.: "Prepare to eat crudmuffins, jerkface!"; "Aw, crudmuffins!"
And now you are smarter.
2/20/04- Yeah, so I had the comic all ready to go late this morning, but I fell asleep while waiting for the computer. That's why it's late. Being at school for 13 hours the day before can do that to you. SO GET OFF MY BACK ALREADY!
*cough* Um. Going back to sleep now.
2/16/04- Stole a sound effect from The Simpsons. Will send in that VG Cats comic as soon as I finish this update.
Finally got Mario Kart Double Dash. My lil' bro and I make a pretty good team, with me driving and him shooting.
Um, so. That's all.
2/13/04- Valentines Day is the silliest holiday ever. Not because of its commercialism, but because of the hypocrisy involved. People who don't have a valentine say Valentines Day is stupid and pointless. People who do have a valentine say it's such a lovely holiday.
Me? I don't hate Valentine's Day. I don't love it, either. The only memory I have of Valentine passed is when I tripped over my backpack, hit my head on the door jamb, and cut my head open. Yeah, that was fun. I've got a scar from it. Happy Valentine's Day, Head Scar. I will always remember when I got you.
Anyways, new comiclie. Awesome visuals, if I do say so myself. And!! ImAoS wallpaper to pretty up your desktop and take up space on your hard drive.
2/11/04- All the really bad-looking comics (the first four comics, to be specific) have been redone. They still suck, but less than before.
2/9/04- New stuff on the horizon... wait, there it is! Not only is there a new comic, I've FINALLY gotten some of the Sentences of Jimbob up, and I've redone the "What is This" page. It looks good now. Next mission: make a few iconls for people to link to, and a better banner. I've made a comic for VG Cats, but I want this place looking respectable before I send it in.
Later that day... Man I'm bored! Updated the links
section. New banner and little
banner:
Good for linkage. (Okay, so the big one is basically the same as the old one...
it looks better, though.)
May be ready to send in that VGCats thing...maybe tomorrow. Or the day after. Yeah. *looks at the time* Holy freak! I have to get ready for class!
2/6/04- Another day, another comic. I would say more, but I can't think of anything else to say.
2/2/04- I believe today's comic contains the best visuals yet.
Will have the first ever Official ImAoS wallpaper out sometime soon, probably next week. I got bored yesterday and made it. It is good.
bCx reset, since it's the beginning of a new month. *points up to bCx piccie* Vote! ImAoS got farther up the list in December than January.
1/30/04- Sorry the comic's so late. I am cold, tired, and near-braindead for no apparent reason. I really wanted to do a band-related thing this morning, but I had to clean the floors before my brother got here. Luckily, I had the comic drawn and inked yesterday, and I have the next comic ready for coloring.
I'm considering moving updates from Tues-Fri to Mon-Fri. I seem to do less on Mondays now.
I want to watch a movie. Goodbye.
1/27/04- I am such a slacker. There's only one day this week where I have more than one class, and my first class yesterday wasn't until 6:30 pm.
Yes, people of the world, I am taking an art class. I've never taken a formal art class (no, "Art Exploration" doesn't count), so we'll see if/how I improve. We sketched an ice pack yesterday. Mine sucked.
Guestcomic by Nick today, which gives me more time to work on the SARA-ASRoaL battle, which will be big, long, and Very Good.
1/23/04- School starts on Monday. There is no way in hell I'm going to get my license in time, so most of my free time is going to be spent driving. There're two more pages of the original ImAoS up in the Misc. section.
1/20/04- I redid the very first comic because I thought its overwhelming awfulness was scaring people away. I didn't redraw anything, just recolored and relettered it. I will do the same to comics 2-4 as well. Eventually.
So, if this is your first time here, don't think the icky look of the first few comics is the same as the rest. Especially the newer ones, cuz they look good. Gettin' better all the time...
1/16/04- Everything is going good. All three people in the forum (including myself) are having a good time, the comic looks good, and my fingers are cold- oh, wait, that's bad. Gonna go thaw out my fingers now.
1/13/04- Got a message forum at aimoo, cuz ezboard apparently charges money now. *points up to Forum link* Register and be happy. My screename is Miss Special.
*edit* I forgot the first line of dialogue in today's comic! It's all fixed now.
Used the new photoshop today (for the most part). There's a definite improvement in the lettering, and the overall look is very different... A story arc begins today. Don't know where it'll lead, but I didn't know where the original comic was going either. ^_^
Greta the Grate sent in fanart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's the best. *insert 5,000 good adjectives about Greta here*
I also updated the Links page. So there're more links.
Which place to host a forum?: aimoo.com or ezboard.com?
1/12/04- No new comic right now (hey, it's Monday! There'll be one tomorrow!), but I've decided to finally get of f my rear and get a message board/forum thing. There are two possible choices (that I know of) where having a board wouldn't give me too much trouble: aimoo.com and ezboard.com. I'd go with aimoo, but that one has a lot of pop-ups (which I despise). So, what I need all of you to do is look around at both places and tell me what you think. Though I doubt I'm going to get any feedback whatsoever.
I have also decided that the final battle in Beyond Good & Evil is the stupidest in the history of mankind. Sure, everything goes normally for a while, but halfway through, everything looks and acts as though you're fighting in Jello, and the controls are reversed.
Check out HakuBaikou.com to see lots of good Kenshin-related art, including some of greta the grate's stuff. It proves that greta can kick my butt in the art department any day of the week. (Although I am getting better! Check this out!
Oh! Starting tomorrow, unless something goes drastically wrong, ImAoS will now be done using Adobe Photoshop 7! Much, much thanks goes out to greta the grate, for she is grate!!!
1/10/04- The comic's late, but it's not my fault! It was ready to go Tuesday, but the server's been down, and now my FTP server won't let me in, so I have to use Fateback's FTP uploader. Which is a bad thing.
I GOT A NEW PHOTOSHOP! Woo-hoo! This one reads gifs, so look for a sprite comic every once in a while. I'm still getting the hang of it, so I'm still using the old photoshop for the comics. Here's a sprite-thingy I did.
I started Beyond Good & Evil. I've decided that stealth games aren't my thing (I'm too aggressive), but it's still a good game.
Ooh! I did some searching for video game sheet music, and found the Zelda theme and the Dr. Mario Fever song. I also found about 3,000 songs from various Final Fantasy games, reminding me why I don't play Final Fantasy.
The art in today's comic is kinda crummy, as usual. But, if you get it, it's funny. I think it's funny, anyways. Laurie probably thinks it's icky. :)
Vote!
1/2/04- (5:35 pm) Beat Wind Waker. Haven't decided whether I'm happy with the ending. Methinks I'll learn to live with it.
(12:30 pm) Happy New Year! What did I do to celebrate? I was playing Wind Waker to pass the time... and by the time I looked at my watch, it was 12:05 am. ^_^; Oh well.
There's a ton of things I want to do today, none of which include drawing a new comic. So, instead, I have those comics I mentioned earlier. Both are done completely by hand. This one's about my plane trip, and this one's about my trip in general. Sorry, Erin, but in the one panel you're in, you weren't drawn very well. Heck, you should be glad you appeared in it at all.
It's a new month, which means buzzcomix has reset. Vote like crazy!!
12/30/03- Well, when I said I wasn't dead, I was almost lying. I managed to get the flu, which lasted all of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Figures. I'm working on a couple comics that sum up my trip, so they'll be up sometime.
Last Thursday, I forgot to put in a couple of links in the original comic pages, so they're there now, and you can see all of the original comic pages I posted.
I got Wind Waker and Beyond Good and Evil for Christmas. ^_^
As well as a piece of luggage so big, I can fit in it.
12/25/03- If you are reading this, you can assume the following: I am not dead, I have access to a computer with internet access, and have taken the time to prepare for an update. See, as I write this, the date is Sunday, December 21.
You should be proud of me. All the foresight I have, I learned from Dr. Mario.
There's no actual new comic up today. Instead of drawing a comic, I decided to put up another four pages of the original ImAoS, which can be found here. That is, if I've planned everything out right. If there's anyone out there who thinks they've been gypped since I'm putting the original comic up on the internet even though they payed money to own a copy, here's something to think about: I scanned the pages in a hurry, they are now pixellated, and if you bring your comic to me, I will sign it, therefore increasing the comic's value.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
12/19/03- Ten years of playing the clarinet, a massive bicycle crash, spraining, and the ability to bend it ten degrees farther than normal people, have taken their toll on my right elbow. So, when I accidentally banged it hard against my nightstand, it was rendered swollen and stupid. To combat the forces of evil that are going to work on said elbow, I have configured my mouse to work with my left hand. Which slows me down in almost everything having to do with a computer.
Of course, all this happens at a time when things are getting a little hectic- not only did I have today's comic to do, but I also have next week's, various household chores, and a very big thing to get finished. See, I have signed on as the art director for Beast Wars International, so I have to make at least one page each for twenty-odd artists by January 3rd, when the site will be officially launched at bwint.net, which is currently Sapphire's Beast Wars Website.
To make up for the overwhelming badness of the art in today's comic, you can now view some propaganda in the Misc. section.
Keep voting!
Foo unto the right-handed world.
12/16/03- Hooray! One final left, and then I'm free! I don't go back to school until January 26! And ImAoS is in the 200's (I think) at buzzcomix, and in the 70's in the Weird section! Woo hoo!
I've found a midi masterpiece (no joke!!!). It's a jazzed-up version a of Dr. Mario song. I found it at vgmusic.com, which has tons of awesome midi's.
Here's what's going on: Next week, I'm going to South Carolina for a week. If everything goes according to plan, there will only be one update that week, on Christmas Day or the day after. However, the chances of something going wrong are very good, so there may be no update next week. But keep voting!
New stuff! My friend Dannn Sanew sent in a couple of pics, which is in the Stuff I Didn't Do section. And there's a new comic, of course.
12/12/03- Dude! In the last few days, ImAoS has gone from the bottom to the top 500! Last I checked, it was #416. Which is very good. And in the "Weird Comics" category, it was #100!!!! Yay! Keep voting, every day!
And my good friend Nick sent something in! I haven't quite decided what to do with it, so I put it in the Miscellaneous section, under Stuff I Didn't Do. Check it out!
Of COURSE there's a new comic today. It's Friday!
12/10/03- Yeah, I know the buzzcomix thingie doesn't work. I know what the problem is, but I haven't quite figured out how to fix it, and don't have any time to figure it out. I have a paper to finish tonight, and my lil' bro has a winter concert tomorry, so maybe it'll be working properly on Friday. Until then, I'm the laughingstock at the bottom of the buzzcomix list.
*edit* AUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! *rips face off*
*edit #2* Figured it out! The pic leads to my sister's Geocities page, where there's a WORKING link to vote! Vote! Vote!
And while you're at it, check my sister's site out! Because she's been a big help!!
12/09/03- (7:00pm) Signed up for buzzcomix. See, you clicky on that little piccie thing up there (the orange one), and I get free advertising. Or something like that. Vote every day, or else ImAoS will be the laughingstock of the comic world.
Q: What's the difference between a tenor saxophone and a macaw?
A: One's loud and obnoxious, and the other's a bird.
For your viewing pleasure, I have put the first three pages of the original ImAoS (the one done by hand) up in the Misc. section.
Enjoy the new comic. I did. Tastes like riboflavin!
12/02/03- Spiderman lives in New York. Same with the Ninja Turtles. And Daredevil. Not to mention half a dozen other superheroes. Oh, come on! I know New York's got a lot of crime, but does it really need that many superheroes? And how many does a place like, say, Los Angeles have? Zero! Why doesn't Penn Valley have a superhero, to save the firefighters from having to help old people who've fallen down, or jerks who're complaining about chest pain? Or how 'bout someone to watch over the Rough and Ready Mobile Home Park, so the residents don't try to kill each other as often? Darnit, New York, share the wealth! Send the Turtles over and we'll call it even.
The Frosty-SARA story ends in today's comic. It was fun, but Frosty won't be back.
11/28/03- Boy, was I mad on Tuesday, ha ha ha! See, I wasn't feeling well, and I was trying to sign up for classes for next semester, and I found out that two of my classes (including Zoology) were already filled, and one of my other classes was going to be taught by my ancient Trig teacher. And I hadn't finished my Biology paper.
Today's comic is late because... well, because of a black hole called "The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker." Good God, that game is addictive. That's all I've been doing since I got home on Wednesday. Playing Wind Waker was a stupid thing to do, because I was only renting it, and I'm generally bad at those games. Actually, I was doing pretty well, but poor Link'll have to wait until I either re-rent the game or buy it. Or something.
11/25/03- Bad day, don't wanna talk, no comic, busy, people should die.
11/22/03- Here's my schedule:
11/26- Bio paper due
12/2- research project outline due (English)
12/4- Process analysis essay due (Eng.)
12/9- Classification essay due (Eng.)
12/11- Research project due (Eng.)
12/15-19- finals week
12/19-29 (ten.)- vacation in South Carolina
What all this means is that I'm gonna be busy. As of yet, I'm still going to be putting up comics, but they may have to go on hold once or twice.
11/19/03- Yeppers, boy do I have a paper to write. Unless someone magically sends something in, there probably won't be a new comic for Friday. The paper's due Wednesday, but I'll hopefully have it done and be able to put up a comic on Tuesday.
And, about the Bio exam I completely forgot to study for, I managed to pull a B on it. I beat the score I had on my other Bio exam- the one that I STUDIED for. Figures. (Ugh, that lemon tart I ate at greta the grate's house earlier is making me ill...)
And Penny Racers is good. You should get it.
11/18/03- 4:00 pm- *Has just figured out Navy Al took all the good N64 (Perfect Dark, both N64 Zeldas) games and her other brother erased her Penny Racers data, and is angry.*
2:30 pm- Let me tell you about yesterday.
Yesterday, for the first time in the History of SARA, I was late for a class. Upon my late arrival, my history teacher said, "Bad dog, no biscuit." I took me place, and that was that. Then, in Biology, I realized I'd utterly forgotten about the big, fat exam that covers the last four chapters. I didn't have time to cram/study, because I had to go and pay $1.75 for scantrons at the student store. Then, I heard something about our 7-10 page Biology paper being due next week. When I got home, I spent most of the evening typing up a 3-4 page essay for English.
I've been working on a mega-cool piccie for about a week. You can see it in varying stages of completion. This is what it looked like on Wednesday, this is what it looked like on Saturday, and this is what it looks like today. It's not finished yet.
Anyways, new comic up. There might not be one on Friday, though, because of the Biology paper I might need to write.
11/14/03- Was able to reinstall Frontpage. Am tired.
Look at the new comic and be happy.
11/11/03- Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaarg. The other computer is fixed, however it seems as though Frontpage has been uninstalled and refuses to reinstall. But good ol' Swimmie still works fine; I just have to do a lot of file swapping.
Today's comic is the first part of a four part series, which is very good. I'm liking where it's going.
Thanks go out to greta the grate, because I'm listening to music she gave me, and it's good.
And Agent Michael Vaughn is a dirtbag.
10/26/03- Okay, maybe I wasn't clear last Thursday. All you have to do is email me and tell me you come here. Then I'll start putting up comics again. What I'm trying to do is figure out whether or not anyone comes here. If no one comes here, what's the point?
10/23/03- ImAoS has been suspended until someone tells me I'm not wasting my time. I say this today because I will not be around to say so tomorrow.
My possible grouchiness may be because I'm getting schooled-out. I haven't had an official day off school since Labor Day (Sept. 1). It is becoming increasingly harder to get out of bed and stay focused. I did not go to Trig yesterday. Instead, I "learned" how to drive a stick shift. My initial conclusion is that I suck at manuals, however this may be because of my lack of driving skills.
True, I do have Fridays off. But that doesn't matter much. 12 credits counts as a full-time student, and I'm getting 16 this semester. My next vacation is Thanksgiving. More than a month from today. School is out to get me.
Don't get me wrong; I'm not stressed. I don't get stressed over school. I'm just tired. I need a break in my routine. Right now, those breaks come in the form of not going to class. Not like I get anything out of Trig, anyways.
10/21/03- Were there any pleasant surprises awaiting me when I opened my mailbox today?
Of course not. Thus, I am faced with the question, "Should I make a comic for today?" The answer? Probably not. I might, but don't get your hopes up. I didn't get my hopes up when I asked for guestcomics, and I was right.
Basically, my pessimism about most anything I do has caught up with me, and I doubt anyone actually comes here. And if no one comes here, not only am I spending five hours a week wasting precious video game time, but it also means this comic isn't going to last long. If people don't come, people don't find out about this. Right now, there's no point in signing up at Buzzcomix right now, because if no one comes here, no one votes, so I'll hold off on that for now.
Why, you ask, do I believe no one comes here? I know of one person who comes here on a regular basis: my sister. And I'd probably kill her if she didn't. I've gotten feedback from one other person besides her, which would be my good friend Nick. Thanks, Nick and Erin. Everyone else: TELL ME YOU COME HERE!
On a much happier note, Happy 18th Birthday, Rachel!
10/17/03- Am feeling much better today. New comic courtesy of Jimbob.
10/14/03- (8:55 pm) Well, the server seems to be back up. Ta-da!
(6:25 pm) Well, the server's still down. On a better note, I finished the banner. Here it is:

It looks better in the photoshop. >_<
Also, midterms are NEXT WEEK. Guestcomics should be sent in to miss_special@muchomail.com by the end of Monday, Oct. 20. If there are any. Color me pessimist.
(1:15 pm) I'm sick. I've been sick since Saturday, and it may be the reason for my lethargy last Friday. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with me, but it could be a sinus/ear infection. I refuse to go to the doctor. Here's why:
Spring Break 2003- I was at greta the grate's house. We had a nice bonfire, and roasted marshmallows and everything. I felt fine. I spent the night at her house, and started having weird dreams around 2 am. I kept waking up and going back to the same dream, one about being a robot and writing poetry. Anyways, I quickly figured out I was sick and had a temperature of around 103. I went to the local doctor, and she said I had an ear infection. I thought that was odd, since my ear didn't hurt. It started hurting the next day. She proscribed me pills, ones stronger than the usual amoxicillin, since amoxicillin doesn't work on me. The pills she gave me made me feel ill. And my ear wasn't getting better- it was getting way worse. I lost nearly all hearing in that ear, which meant I was partially deaf and sick from the stupid pills. This continued for about a week, when we decided to go to my official doctor. He told me the pills the other doctor gave me didn't work on ear infections, and gave me new pills. They still made me feel sick, but my ear got better.
The point is, I'd rather be lethargic, have sinus problems, and a fever, than take those godawful pills.
On top of all that, my server seems to be down as I write this. I shall try to get all this up later.
Surprisingly, the art in today's comic is rather good for me being sick. I didn't try that hard on the hands, and it shows, but the first panel looks really good.
10/10/03- I intended for today's comic to be one with Bowser in it, but I realized I'd never drawn Bowser before, and now would be a bad time to start. I'm tired today and my art is crummy.
I worked on the banner a little, but I can't finish it because I have to clean the house.
10/07/03- Today's comic was inspired by this doodle. The doodle also proves my artistic talent isn't limited to crude little people.
I seem to have gotten the hand of a constantly-crashing photoshop and- AW, DANGIT! I forgot to draw something for the banner. Oh, well. Maybe later.
And I added an update archive.
10/04/03-Added a new SARA Doodle. You can find it in the Misc. section.
Also, I know I mentioned this a few weeks ago, but midterms are the week of Oct 20-24, and I don't want to do comics and study at the same time. Which means it'd be ideal if a few people (or a lot of people) sent in some guest comics. The only requirements are it should be 500 pixels (or less) wide, and no more than 300kb (although 100kb or less is best). And try not to make it too inappropriate. Swearing will be tolerated to an extent, but lay off it.
10/03/03- Haven't gotten around to defeating the Divine Dragon yet. Yay new comic!
9/30/03- (7:30 pm) Right after I finished putting up today's comic, I went to play video games. And all I have to say for myself is: FOO UNTO THE DIVINE DRAGON! We will meet again, and this time I'll have more healing items! I will use your hide as a rug and mount your uglier-than-sin head on my wall!
Uh... What I meant to say was, "I thought the last panel in today's comic looked crummy, so I fixed it."
9/30/03- (1:00 pm) Ha! The photoshop crashed only ONCE today! And I remembered to save often! I'm gonna go now, 'cuz I wanna play a video game.
9/28/03- Added a FAQ page. No one asked any questions, so I made them up myself. You can tell. I'm going to sign up with Buzz Comix, which is a top comics page (it displays the top 100 comics, which are chosen based on a daily voting system), but first, I need to make a banner. So I'm working on a banner.
I may have found a place to host a forum, but I'm procrastinating on it, so there probably won't be one for awhile.
9/26/03- My photoshop crashed roughly five times today. People who have read The Comic will be pleasantly surprised by today's comic. Yes! Go see it! Happiness will abound!
And, INPUT, DARNIT!
